Sieg started in Crozet, Virginia, born from a love of the whole experience of listening to music. The setting, the objects, the company, they are all part of what comes together to make a moment either ordinary or memorable.

Finding most audio gear to have too much technology and not enough soul, Derek Sieg set out to build speakers that felt as good as they sounded.

Before anything else, he spent two years designing and building prototypes. He took prototypes not to engineers but to musicians, getting feedback and refining. He knew he couldn’t rush work that was intended to really last.

“Some things you buy are best the day you buy them and go downhill from there.  I want to make things that get better every day you own them.”

With an acoustic engineer based in France and audio component manufacturers on the other side of the globe, Sieg is an international effort. But everything gets assembled by hand here in Virginia where we can sweat all the details.
