Leather Record Mat
A record mat improves the sound of your turntable and protects your records. Unfortunately, our hand-cut leather version looks so good you almost don’t want to put a record on it.
Starting with full cowhides from Moore & Giles, an expert Virginia leather tannery, each mat is cut and decorated by hand in our Crozet, Virginia workshop.
Hand-assembled in Crozet, Virginia. Ships from our workshop.
What does a record mat do?
It sits between your platter and your record, and its real job is isolation — breaking the path that motor vibration and bearing noise travel before they reach your stylus. A good mat also conforms to the record surface, improving contact and reducing static. Leather does all of this extremely well.
