What does a record weight do?
What does a record weight do?
A record weight presses your record flat and holds it there. That matters more than it sounds. Even records that look fine often have subtle warps — enough to lift slightly off the platter during playback, causing the stylus to work harder and track less consistently. The weight eliminates that. It also adds rotational mass to the platter, which smooths out speed variation and tightens pitch stability.
